This wine blog was started by my daughter Johanna as a University project for her communications class. She earned an A+ on the project. It was so much fun reading her blog. I had a hand in inspiring some of her original content and apparently her love of wine. According to her blog “my wine journey started when I was 13 years old when my mom (a real wine connoisseur) opened me up the world of vino, letting me have a sip at dinner and teaching me proper wine etiquette.” Everything is accurate except the ‘real wine connoisseur’ part, I describe myself as more of a Wine Geek. I genuinely appreciate wine and especially stories about wine. I’m all about the interesting, hidden, quirky facts about wine; the things that give it meaning; the stories that you can tell at the table about where the wine came from; a cool bit of information about the history of the grape; the artwork on the labels; a fun fact about wine culture. When I find a great bottle with a great story, I like to share it.
So, in wine terms, I am giving this wine blog longer legs, and have rebranded it as ‘My Wine Playlist.’ I am by no means an expert, but I’ll tell you what I like, and share a cool story about it. Follow @MyWinePlaylist to learn the weird, wacky, and wonderful things that combine to make a single, beautiful, interesting bottle of wine.
Shout out to my fabulous wine club – the Fabulous Girls Wine Society – who share a lust for wine, great conversation, and who are likely to be an inspiration for ‘My Wine Playlist.’
