Thankful for Wine…and here’s 5 reasons why…

While family and friends 100% top the list of things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, here are 5 reasons that wine might top my list too:

1. Perfect for any occasion and every meal. No matter what you are cooking, or celebrating, there is a wine out there that goes with anything. It’s a wonderful gift to give and to receive!

2. It’s a worldly experience. One bottle of wine can give you a taste of lands and places all over the world that you might dream of visiting one day.

3. It’s good for your health. An amazing thing about red wine is Resveratrol, a substance found in the skin of red grapes that some researchers suggest has the potential to fight diabetes, cancer, heart disease and dementia. And, please let this be true, some say Resveratrol may also slow the aging process, like a fountain of youth. Fingers crossed!

4. Your favourite bottles, once consumed, can be repurposed in to beautiful, eclectic home decor. Simply insert a string of twinkle lights in your favourite bottle, like my daughter did (pictured below) with her favourite Down the Rabbit Hole Rose from our recent visit to McLaren Vale🙌

5. A bottle of wine can build special moments for the future. Cellaring a fabulous bottle of wine gives you something to look forward to. I am looking forward to sharing the special bottle of Woodstock ‘The Stocks’ Shiraz 2016 – the winery’s flagship bottle – that we brought back to Canada from our recent visit to McLaren Vale in South Australia. Made from 31 rows of low yielding ancient vines, the single vineyard Shiraz is only produced in vintages deemed to be superb. An online article shares that Woodstock Winemaker Scott Collett makes roughly 3 bottles from each vine! Our bottle, with the label now signed by me and my daughters, during our travels, is a promise to share this special bottle no matter where we are, together, in 2029.
